How A Tour Works

First, Awarding Book Tours coordinates with the author. The author will decide on a package (Release Day, Bronze, Silver or Gold) and submit relevant information. Once we have the genre, book cover, synopsis, and dates finalized, we will contact bloggers about your book. A participating book will have a kind of personal ad, and if blogs are interested, they can tell us which date works for them.

After this, we'll work with the author again to produce the blog posts for the stop.

Blog Posts
A book tour could involve a combination of the following posts or other ideas.

Author Interviews
- Typical interviews
- Answers with book lines
- Answers with music lyrics
- Top Ten lists: books, movies, bands, etc.
- This or That lists
- Character interviewing author

Guest Posts
- Inspiration for the book
- Writing process for book
- Revision process
- Writing journey
- Development of Cover Art

Book-Related Posts
- Book Soundtrack
- Character Tweets
- Movie Cast
- Character journal entries during/before/after the book

Each blog stop would link to the other stops on the tour and have a graphic with your book cover and the dates of the tour. Each stop would also publicize whichever giveaways were going on during the tour.

Giveaways
A book tour should have a few giveaways, especially giveaways of your book. Awarding Book Tours has a RaffleCopter account and will coordinate giveaways for ebook or paperback copies to generate interest in the tour.

An author could also donate a separate prize: a gift card, a swag bag, etc. These prizes could be won by commenting on the blog stops. More comments would lead to more entries, and Awarding Book Tours will choose the winner randomly and send the information to the author.
